NEW DELHI: Two labourers were injured and several others were feared trapped after a chimney collapsed at a steel plant in Chhattisgarh.
The incident took place during afternoon hours at the plant situated in Saragaon area, confirmed Mungeli Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel.
“Labourers are feared trapped at an iron-making factory in Sargaon, Mungeli after the silo structure of the factory collapsed,” Mungeli collector Rahul Deo told news agency ANI.
“Police and administration are present at the spot. Rescue operation is underway,” he added.
Two workers have been successfully rescued so far and sent to a medical facility in Bilaspur for treatment.
Reports suggest that additional workers remain trapped underneath the collapsed structure, with rescue efforts actively underway to extract them from the debris.
