At the event, Kambli was seen with Prithvi Shaw, who had been experiencing a rough period in his career. Shaw, who was touted as a promising talent in Indian cricket, endured a tough spell in the last year.

Following his exclusion from the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December 2024, the 25-year-old opening batter also failed to secure a contract at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Kambli was admitted in ICU on December 21 due to health complications which included urinary infection and cramps but doctors later said the 52-year-old also had clots in his brain.
In a New Year’s message, Kambli urged people to steer clear of alcohol and narcotic drugs, warning that such vices can ruin lives. The former swashbuckling batter also shared that he would soon be making a return to the field.
