NEW DELHI: The chief of Madhya Pradesh Parshuram Kalyan Board, Pandit Vishnu Rajoria, announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for couples from Sanadhya Brahmin community who have four children.
The announcement was made during a ‘parichay sammelan’ held on Sunday for men and women of marriageable age from the community.
In a video that went viral on social media, Rajoria voiced his concern over couples with stable jobs opting to have just one child. He also questioned the rising population of “non-Hindus,” attributing it to a lack of attention to family expansion among Hindus. Rajoria claimed, “The population of ‘heretics’ is increasing rapidly. I request everyone to have at least four children.”
He further said, “Couples in the Sanadhya Brahmin community who have four children will be rewarded Rs 1 lakh by the Parshuram Kalyan Board. The reward will be provided by the board’s president at the time.”
After the video gained widespread attention, Rajoria clarified that the reward would not be funded by the BJP-led state government but would be arranged either personally or through community support. “I made the announcement at Sunday’s event, where 58 couples got married. The Rs 1 lakh reward for having four children will be arranged through my own efforts or social contributions,” he told PTI.
Rajoria also claimed that the population of Brahmins in the country has halved since 1951, highlighting his concern for the community’s demographic decline.
