INDORE/MHOW: Cow vigilantes stopped two vehicles on suspicion of carrying cattle meat at Indore Naka in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday and Sunday. They thrashed one of the SUV drivers, who was returning to Mhow after selling meat, before handing him over to police. Three people were arrested and their vehicles and meat seized.
Zakir Khan, Mohsin Khan, and Jabbar Khan were booked under relevant sections of MP Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, said SI Mhow police station Munnalal Dodiyar.
All three were sent to judicial custody where they revealed they had taken the meat from the house of one Imran Khatkat for sale. The vigilantes found Imran and handed him over to police.
