NEW DELHI: Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, marking his return to the nation’s highest office. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Trump hailed the beginning of a transformative era for the country.
“The golden age of America begins right now. From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world,” he declared, setting a tone of optimism and renewal.
In a fiery address, Trump emphasised his unwavering commitment to prioritising the nation’s interests. “I will very simply put America First,” he stated, pledging to lead a “nation that is proud, prosperous, and free.”
Referencing past assassination attempts, Trump credited divine intervention for his survival and renewed his promise to “Make America Great Again.” He further vowed to end the “vicious, violent, and unfair weaponisation” of the US Justice Department, which he claimed had plagued previous administrations.
Trump also took aim at his predecessor, Joe Biden, accusing his administration of representing a “radical and corrupt” establishment. “My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and indeed their freedom,” he said.
Declaring the end of national decline, Trump proclaimed, “From this moment on, America’s decline is over.” He assured the American people that the country’s challenges would be “annihilated” under his leadership, framing his presidency as a new chapter of strength and revival.
