“Worst owner/joke of the NFL”: Fans brutally trolls Jerry Jones after the Cowboys’ loss to the Commanders – The Times of India

The Dallas Cowboys were irked to see the Washington Commanders make it into the NFC title game, thereby having the longest conference championship drought of any team in the NFC. The loss, coming from a division rival and former head coach, was even more damning to the Cowboys in that the Commanders were arguably one of the most mediocre and dysfunctional franchises in the NFL.

Jerry Jones get roasted by NFL fans over the Cowboys’ loss to the Commanders

The Dallas Cowboys are not part of the two NFC East teams scheduled to feature in the conference title game this year. Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles made it through divisional round victories over Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams. The Cowboys’ appearance drought in the NFC championship marks its longest one in the conference.

This year’s NFC title game will feature two former Cowboys coordinators, Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore, being called plays. Meanwhile, Dallas owner Jerry Jones is looking to bring in the next head coach for the franchise after the 2024 regular season that saw the Cowboys go 7-10 under Mike McCarthy. In the wake of the Commanders’ and Eagles’ postseason successes, fans took to social media to roast Jones for his handling of the Cowboys over the past two decades.
One user wrote, “Jerry Jones is now the owner with the longest Champ Game drought. He is also the GM with the longest drought in a Champ Game. Oh and the Cowboys have the longest overall drought in the NFC. But yeah it’s the QBs, players, coaches…nope. It’s the owner and GM. You can’t defend him.”

Another wrote, “Every NFC team has reached the conference championship more recently than the Cowboys.” A third wrote, “Remember when Washington had the worst owner in pro sports and was the joke of the NFL? New ownership came in and in less than three years they are on the verge of the NFC Championship. That “worst owner/joke of the NFL” now solely belongs to Jerry Jones & the Cowboys.”

The Cowboys will have a new coach next season when Mike McCarthy’s contract expires, but the fans may not be too hopeful for the team to perform well due to the bad roster of the team, which includes Dak Prescott and Jones. Despite all the adversities from Cowboys’ owner Jones, who seems to be halting the achievement of the substantial objectives of this team, under the leadership of Mike Brown, Cincinnati Bengals succeeded in reaching Super Bowl in 2021 and the AFC title game in 2022.
