NEW DELHI: On the eve of the India-England T20 series opener at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Team India unveiled their new jersey with a spirited photoshoot led by captain Suryakumar Yadav on Tuesday.
Amid the cheerful atmosphere, all eyes were on Mohammed Shami, the veteran pacer making a long-awaited return to the national setup after over a year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared glimpses of the lively photoshoot, showcasing the players in high spirits as they posed in the revamped blue jersey. Shami, a seasoned campaigner, stood out in the session, symbolising resilience and determination after a challenging period sidelined by injuries.
Shami’s comeback story has been one of grit and perseverance. He was last seen in action for India during the 2023 World Cup final against Australia, a match that ended in heartbreak for the team.

The five-match T20 series against England, beginning on January 22, sets the stage for India to regain confidence after recent Test woes. Following the opener in Kolkata, the series moves to Chennai (January 25), Rajkot (January 28), Pune (January 31), and concludes in Mumbai (February 2).
The ODI leg follows, starting in Nagpur on February 6, with matches in Cuttack (February 9) and Ahmedabad (February 12).
The series offers a crucial platform for both teams to fine-tune combinations ahead of the Champions Trophy while providing an exciting spectacle for cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
