NEW DELHI: Australian batting star Sam Konstas revealed that he has “no regrets” over the shoulder-bumping incident he had with India’s top batsman Virat Kohli during the Boxing Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Konstas was chatting with 7News Melbourne, an Australian broadcaster.
The 19-year-old Konstas had a difficult time opening for Australia against a seasoned Indian pace attack in front of a sell-out crowd at the Boxing Day Test after being brought into the Australia team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in lieu of Nathan McSweeney.

During his time on the crease, Konstas provided entertainment and gained popularity among Australian supporters. In the first inning of the Melbourne Test, he grabbed headlines with a spectacular ramp shot off Bumrah, demonstrating his intention to remain aggressive even against the new red ball.
Konstas’ much-anticipated debut in Australia turned out to be one of the most entertaining in a long time. Not only did the 19-year-old make headlines by scoring 34 of his 60 runs off India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, but Virat also got involved in a heated exchange with the youngster after bumping into him, making a direct physical shoulder-to-shoulder contact.
Konstas told 7NEWS Melbourne that he had seen the replay of his first Australian match “many times” and that it was “special.”
“I have no regrets. I like to live by that and it was so special. I watched it so many times, not going to lie,” Konstas told 7NEWS Melbourne.
