Market experts anticipate trading within a broad range.

Stock market today: Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, opened in green on Tuesday. While BSE Sensex was above 77,100, Nifty50 was near 23,400. At 9:16 AM, BSE Sensex was trading at 77,150.67, up 77 points or 0.10%. Nifty50 was at 23,394.90, up 50 points or 0.21%.
Domestic markets showed an upward trend on Monday, influenced by positive global indicators before Trump’s inauguration ceremony and significant gains in Kotak Mahindra Bank and Wipro shares. Market experts anticipate trading within a broad range with focus on specific stocks and sectors as third-quarter results continue to emerge.
Asian and European markets experienced positive momentum on Monday, with Frankfurt reaching unprecedented levels. This upturn was driven by expectations of a more measured trade approach from Trump, bolstered by encouraging discussions with China’s President Xi Jinping.
However, his subsequent stern message to Ottawa and Mexico City dampened market enthusiasm, causing a downturn across most Asian trading floors.
Several markets recorded losses, including Shanghai, Singapore, Seoul, Wellington and Taipei. Tokyo showed marginal gains but remained below its earlier peaks, whilst Hong Kong maintained slight upward movement alongside Sydney and Manila.
The dollar weakened following Trump’s measured approach to tariffs. FPIs recorded net sales of Rs 4,336 crore, while DIIs purchased shares worth Rs 4,321 crore.
FII positions showed increased net short positions from Rs 3.26 lakh crore to Rs 3.33 lakh crore.
