NEW DELHI: Newly-appointed BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia on Wednesday stated that the Indian Board will fully comply with the ICC’s guidelines regarding Team India’s jersey for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on February 19, with India set to play its matches in Dubai. This decision comes after India cited security concerns as the reason for declining to travel to Pakistan.

“We will follow whatever are the ICC guidelines,” Saikia told Cricbuzz, aiming to put an end to the controversy surrounding the Indian jersey and the Champions Trophy logo which has Pakistan beneath it.
Rohit Sharma will lead the 15-member Indian squad for the Champions Trophy, with Shubman Gill serving as vice-captain. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, currently on rest, has been included in the squad with a caveat.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar revealed that Bumrah has been offloading for five weeks, and his participation will be clearer in the first week of February.
The squad follows expected lines, with Hardik Pandya as the sole seam-bowling all-rounder. The spin department has been strengthened with Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav, adding batting depth and flexibility.
India will start their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. They face arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23, followed by their final group-stage match against New Zealand on March 2, all at the same venue.
India, who have won the Champions Trophy twice, were runners-up in the last edition of the tournament in 2017.
