‘Samajwadis of today only entangled in property’: UP CM Yogi slams Akhilesh Yadav | India News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath criticised Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for his remarks on Maha Kumbh and accused him of disrespecting people’s religious sentiments.
During a campaign rally in Milkipur assembly constituency, CM Yogi criticised Akhilesh Yadav stating, “Today Samajwadis are more concerned about property… When the whole country and the world were praising Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh, then the former CM of UP (Akhilesh Yadav) was criticising Maha Kumbh every day and playing with the faith of the people of India.”
“This is the same Samajwadi Party whose hands are stained with the blood of Kar Sevaks… Samajwadi Party insults Baba Saheb Bhimrao. It opposes Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, opposes Kashi Vishwanath in Kashi,” the Uttar Pradesh CM said.
The CM also accused SP of focusing solely on property acquisition.
“The ‘samajwadis’ of today are only entangled in property, their flags were hoisted on empty plots. They don’t have any sympathy for the poors. Their flag was to save criminals and mafias,” Yogi said.
“Samajwadi Party only sheds tears when a ‘Marsiya’ is read after a mafia dies. Moin Khan, who played with the honour of a Dalit daughter, is their hero… That is why we say that whenever the Samajwadi Party comes to power, ‘dekh sapai, bitiya ghabra’,” he added.
Earlier on Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav had criticised the Yogi administration for conducting a cabinet meeting at Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, stating, “Kumbh or Prayagraj is not the place where politics or political decisions should be taken.”
“Kumbh or Prayagraj is not the place where politics or political decisions should be taken. Organising cabinet meeting at Kumbh is political. Many of us (Samajwadi party people) must have gone to take a holy dip but didn’t post a picture or told you (media),” he said.
Akhilesh also trained guns at Yogi Adityanath’s criticism of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal regarding the Yamuna’s pollution levels during his Delhi assembly election campaign.
Akhilesh responded to Adityanath’s remarks in a post on X (formerly Twitter) without naming anyone directly. “Before challenging others, people should dare sip water from the Yamuna which flows through Mathura in their state,” the SP chief said in a Hindi post.
