Shah was recently elected as a board member of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) advisory board on Thursday. Despite his absence at the inaugural World Cricket Connects forum held by MCC last year, which saw over 100 leading voices discuss the state of the global game at Lord’s, Shah is now among the 13 founding members of the new World Cricket Connects advisory board.
The advisory board will be headed by former Sri Lanka skipper and MCC president Kumar Sangakkara. Other founding members include former India captain Sourav Ganguly, former South Africa opener Greame Smith, former Director of England Cricket Andrew Strauss, England women’s captain Heather Knight, and JioStar’s CEO (Sports) Sanjog Gupta.
MCC has announced that the second World Cricket Connects forum will be held on June 7 and June 8, prior to the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord’s between Australia and South Africa.
Shah took over as the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on December 1, bringing with him extensive experience in cricket administration.
