Chinese Police dog loses year-end bonus because of THIS reason | – The Times of India

It’s that time of the year when employees fill their appraisal forms, and have their performance review meetings for all the hardwork they did the previous year. On similar lines, a Chinese police dog named Fuzai recently had his performance reviewed. However, despite working hard in the past year, the canine cop lost his year-end bonus for a bizarre reason, reported the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
A humorous video of this was posted on Chinese social media and it seemed to be relatable to many netizens, as it has since then gone viral on the internet.
Fuzai, a Corgi, was just a few months old when he joined the police dog training base in in northern China, reports SCMP. In January 2024, Fuzai started training for detecting explosives. His videos were often shared by the Weifang Public Security Bureau on their social media account named ‘Corgi Police Dog Fuzai and Its Comrades’, which soon made Fuzai popular on the internet.
In a recent video posted by ‘Corgi Police Dog Fuzai and Its Comrades’, viewers can see Fuzai having his annual performance review meeting with a police officer. The police officer presents Fuzai a few things as rewards for his hardwork and service, namely: a red flower, snacks, and toys. But as the meeting progresses, these rewards are quickly taken away from Fuzai, thus indicating that the beloved canine cop missed out on his year-end bonus due to his mischiefs.
“You performed great this year. You passed the Level 4 assessment for police dogs. Not only that, you also successfully completed various security tasks and significantly helped promote Weifang’s police dogs,” the police officer said in the video.
He then added, “But because of your recent behaviour, being fatigued in the workplace and even urinating in your own dog basin, we had to criticise and confiscate your snacks as a penalty. You will keep only the red flower.”
The video not only warmed people’s hearts but also gained Fuzai a lot of sympathy from netizens. Many people felt bad for Fuzai, and some even felt the situation to be relatable.
“Poor Fuzai worked hard all year, only to lose its year-end bonus. I can relate so much,” one user said. Another person said, “It peed in its own bowl, not in the bowl of its boss. Let my bestie take the punishment for it and return its bonus immediately!”
Meanwhile, a user humourously compared Fuzai’s condition of working hard and yet not getting his bonus to the on-going 70 and 90 hours workweek debate. “Milibhagat of L&T Chairman Narayana Murthy,” the user commented.
Reports suggest that the account later posted another video and reassured people that though the poor dog, Fuzai, lost his year-end bonus, he was given a generous Chinese New Year gift instead.
