Virat Kohli began preparations for his return to Ranji Trophy by training with his Delhi teammates at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital on Tuesday, ahead of the match against Railways beginning January 30.
Kohli arrived in Delhi after a session with former India coach Sanjay Bangar in Mumbai and will hope to get some runs under his belt before the ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy. His poor batting form continued on the tour of Australia, where he scored 191 runs in 9 innings despite starting the tour with a century in the first Test at Perth.

India will play a series of three ODIs against England in preparation for the Champions Trophy that begins from February 19.
On Tuesday, Kohli warmed-up with a light football session with his fellow Delhi players, which was followed by scenes of former India captain interacting with some of his teammates before going out of the park to pick his batting kit and hop over to the nets for a batting session, entering there while talking to coach Sarandeep Singh.
Delhi will continue to be led by Ayush Badoni. However, the team will be without its other international star, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, for the match against Railways.
Kohli, who will be seen in action for his state team after 12 years, had opted out of Delhi’s previous match against Surashtra because of a neck sprain.
