JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police Wednesday raided 25 locations across Rajouri district in connection with a terror-related case and seized incriminating material including documents. Further investigation was underway, officials said.
The case pertains to a terrorist network active in Rajouri. In connivance with proscribed terror outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba, the nexus has been working to activate overground workers in J&K to initiate, organise, and execute terror-related activities, a police spokesperson said.
Rajouri PS registered a case in this regard last year. On Wednesday, the searches were carried out based on a warrant from an NIA court in 25 locations of the district, including Rajouri, Naushera, Thanamandi, Dharhal, Kotranka, Budhal, Manjakot and Chingus belts, a police spokesperson said.
Two months ago, police had similarly conducted extensive searches at multiple locations in J&K in connection with separate terror-related cases in Rajouri and Udhampur districts.
