‘Defaming Punjabis’: AAP attacks BJP over alleged raid attempted at Bhagwant Mann’s house | India News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday targeted Bharatiya Janata Party over the alleged raid attempt by the Election Commission officials along with Delhi Police at Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann‘s Kapurthala House in Delhi.
AAP alleged that the authorities were defaming Punjabis at the behest of BJP.
In a social media post on X, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said, “Today, a team of Election Commission team along with Delhi Police has come to conduct a raid at my residence Kapurthala House in Delhi. BJP people are openly distributing money in Delhi but Delhi Police and Election Commission are seeing this.”

“No action is being taken on all this. In a way, Delhi Police and Election Commission, at the behest of BJP, are defaming Punjabis, which is very condemnable,” he added.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh also accused BJP of launching a campaign to defame Punjabis and Sikhs.
“BJP has launched a campaign to defame Punjabis and Sikhs. Punjab CM BhagwantMann also has his wife and mother at home. Election Commission officials and Delhi Police checked every corner of his house but did not find anything,” Singh said in a post on X.

“Pravesh Verma is openly distributing money at his home, if you have the courage then check his house and tell us,” he added.
AAP chief reacted to Singh’s social media post and asked the poll body when it would have the courage to raid the BJP leaders who are openly distributing money and goods.
“What did the Election Commission find in the raid at the Punjab CM’s house? When will the Election Commission have the courage to raid the BJP leaders who are openly distributing money and goods?” Kejriwal asked.

This comes days after AAP attacked BJP candidate from New Delhi Parvesh Verma and accused him of insinuating that vehicles with Punjab registration in Delhi could be part of a conspiracy ahead of Republic Day.
AAP also alleged that BJP is using “polarising tactics” ahead of the elections in Delhi.
