Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: Facial recognition test confirms accused is man seen in CCTV | Mumbai News – The Times of India

MUMBAI: Mumbai Police on Friday confirmed that the face of accused Shariful Islam matches the image captured in CCTV footage from Saif Ali Khan’s residence.
Cops conducted a facial recognition test after concerns were raised that Shariful’s appearance differed from the intruder seen in the footage.
A senior Bandra police officer confirmed to TOI that they have received the facial recognition report from the FSL in Kalina, which showed a positive match after the lab analysed the CCTV image with Shariful.
The test confirmed that he is the person captured in the footage. Shariful is currently in judicial custody after completing his police custody on January 29.

On December 31 night, Shariful surveyed the Bandra and Khar areas before taking up a job at a Bandra (W) hotel, just a few meters from Satguru Sharan, where Saif Ali Khan resides.
After a dispute with the hotel owner, he quit the job. On January 16, he walked from Bandra to Khar and then to Satguru Sharan, where he attempted a burglary, leading to the attack on the actor.
