At the forthcoming Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars will present a dedicated tribute to honour those impacted by the recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The Recording Academy made an announcement on Friday, disclosing that the ‘Die With a Smile’ collaborators would dedicate their performance to Los Angeles, according to Variety.
Their performance follows their two Grammy nominations for ‘Die With a Smile’, which includes recognition in song of the year and best pop duo/group performance categories.Released in August 2024, the ballad achieved remarkable success, dominating streaming platforms and securing the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 early in the year.
At FireAid event in Los Angeles, organised to collect funds for wildfire relief, Gaga delivered a special performance. She concluded the evening with three songs, performing ‘Shallow’ and ‘Always Remember Us This Way’, alongside a new composition ‘All I Need Is Time’, which she created with her fiance Michael Polansky specifically for the occasion.
“When I was thinking about what to sing tonight, I thought I’d do something hopeful for you, and I was thinking about my songs and nothing seemed quite right,” she told the crowd.
“So me and my friend Michael, my fiance, my love, we wrote this song for you. It’s just for tonight, it’s just for you. I think we all need a lot of things right now, but I think something we also may need is time. Time is a healer,” Gaga added.
The wildfires resulted in the destruction of numerous structures, including residences of celebrities in the L.A. region. Notable personalities such as Jeff Bridges, Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, and Billy Crystal lost their homes in these devastating Los Angeles fires.
