Bhopal Funeral Clash: Brothers clash over funeral, nearly cut father’s body in two for separate cremations in Madhya Pradesh | Bhopal News – The Times of India

BHOPAL: A dispute between brothers over conducting the funeral of their father shocked people in a small village of Madhya Pradesh when they almost decided to cut the body into two and initiate separate cremations.
The incident took place in Tal Lidhora village, Tikamgarh district, following the death of 85-year-old Dhyani Singh Ghosh on Sunday.
The conflict arose between his two sons, Damodar Singh and Kishan Singh.
Damodar, who had cared for their ailing father, was preparing for the last rites when Kishan arrived with his family, insisting on performing them himself.
A heated argument took a different turn when Kishan proposed an extreme solution—dividing the body into two so each could conduct separate cremations, reports media.
Despite pleas from relatives and villagers, he remained adamant, leaving the body lying outside the house for nearly five hours.
Unable to resolve the matter, villagers alerted the police. Officers arrived and mediated between the brothers, ultimately deciding that Damodar would perform the last rites as per the family’s consensus.
Under police supervision, Kishan and his family attended the cremation, bringing the dispute to an end
