NEW DELHI: Several schools in east Delhi and Noida were evacuated on Friday morning after receiving bomb threat emails.

Police forces from both cities responded promptly, while bomb disposal squads were dispatched to investigate and neutralise any potential threat.

On receiving a bomb threat through spam mail at Shiv Nadar School, the Expressway Police team, Bomb Squad, Fire Brigade, Dog Squad, BDDS team are immediately checking all the places.
Senior police officers are present on the spot. The cyber team is investigating the email.
The public is requested not to pay heed to the rumours and maintain patience.
Both cities’ police forces responded swiftly, and bomb disposal squads were deployed to investigate and neutralise any potential danger.
Since May 2024, bomb threats via email have targeted numerous schools in Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida. In December 2024, around 40 Delhi schools received similar threats, leading to widespread concern.
Earlier this January, police identified a Class 12 student who had sent bomb threats to at least 23 schools.
Just a day ago, a Class 9 student in Noida was detained for sending hoax bomb threats that led to the evacuation of four schools. The boy admitted to the act, explaining that he did it to get a day off from school.
“The student, after reading online about bomb threats causing panic, watched YouTube videos for hours, learning how to use a VPN to hide his IP address,” a police officer explained.
