Karawal Nagar is one of the 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi and falls under the general category. Located in North East Delhi, it is one of the 10 assembly segments that form the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency. Representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is Kapil Mishra, while the Indian National Congress (INC) has fielded Dr. PK Mishra. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has nominated Manoj Tyagi as its candidate. The counting of votes has started at 8am.
In the 2020 Assembly elections, the BJP clinched victory as Mohan Singh Bisht secured 96,721 votes (50.6%), defeating AAP’s Durgesh Pathak, who garnered 88,498 votes (46.3%). The close contest highlighted AAP’s strong presence in the region, despite BJP’s win.
