Kumar Vishwas’ wife in tears after Manish Sisodia’s defeat but not out of sympathy | Delhi News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: As news broke that Manish Sisodia, Arvind Kejriwal’s trusted lieutenant in AAP, had lost his Jangpura seat in the Delhi elections, former party leader Kumar Vishwas revealed that his wife had started crying. However, he clarified that it wasn’t out of sympathy.

“When we heard about Manish Sisodia losing from Jangpura, my wife, who usually stays away from politics, began to cry,” Vishwas told ANI.

He then recalled an old exchange between his wife and Sisodia. “She once told him, ‘Bhaiya, you won’t always be in power,’ to which Manish Sisodia arrogantly replied, ‘Abhi toh hai (I am in power today),'” Vishwas said, implying that the former deputy CM had grown overconfident.
Sisodia, who was behind bars in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam, was defeated by BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah. In the last election, he had contested from Patparganj.
Vishwas also took a sharp dig at Kejriwal, who lost his New Delhi seat to BJP’s Parvesh Verma.
“I congratulate the BJP for the victory and I hope that they’ll work for the people of Delhi. I have no sympathy for a man who crushed the dreams of AAP party workers. Delhi is now free from him. He used those dreams for his personal ambitions. Today, justice has been delivered.
Kejriwal’s defeat to Parvesh Verma, the son of former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma, marked a dramatic downfall for the former bureaucrat-turned-politician, whose rise began with Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement. His loss reflected AAP’s declining fortunes, paving the way for the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years.
