Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma shares the five names Guwahati Police has FIR registered against in Ranveer Allahbadia comments’ case – The Times of India


YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, sparked nationwide controversy with his vulgar remarks on an episode of India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. A complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, calling for strict action against Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and the show’s organizers. Now, the Guwahati Police has registered an FIR against Allabadia and other YouTubers.

Guwahati Police files FIR

Himant Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), announcing the same. Sarma wrote “Today @GuwahatiPol has registered an FIR against against certain Youtubers and social Influencers, namely
1. Shri Ashish Chanchlani
2. Shri Jaspreet Singh
3. Shri Apoorva Makhija
4. Shri Ranveer Allahbadia
5. Shri Samay Raina and others
for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in a show titled ‘ India’s Got Latent”.

Adding further, he wrote “Guwahati Crime Branch has registered a case vide Cyber PS case no 03/2025 under sections – 79/95/294/296 of BNS 2023 read with Sec 67 of IT Act, 2000, read with Section 4/7 of Cinematograph Act 1952 read with Section 4/6 of ⁠Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. Investigation is currently underway”.
Separately, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote in a post “Any abusive language in the name of comedy content crosses limits is not acceptable . You get a platform, that doesn’t mean that you will utter anything. He is someone with millions of subscribers, every political has sat in his podcast. PM has given him an award… As a member of standing committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, I will raise this issue…”.

What is Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversy

During the episode, Ranveer asked a contestant a controversial question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?”.
The remark drew cheers and laughter from the panel, including host Samay Raina, but left viewers outraged. Many criticized the comment as offensive and inappropriate, leading to a wave of backlash online. The controversy has since become a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter), with users condemning Ranveer’s comments.
