JeM proxy owns up to Akhnoor blast that killed 2 Armymen | India News – The Times of India

JAMMU: Banned terrorist group People’s Anti-Fascistic Front (PAFF), a proxy of Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), has claimed responsibility for the IED attack near LoC in Jammu’s Akhnoor that killed Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi and Naik Mukesh Tuesday.
PAFF released Thursday a video of the explosion on social media. Banned by India in Jan 2023, the group’s terrorists are known to use body cameras to record their attacks, later using the footage for propaganda.
JeM’s offshoot has been involved in multiple terrorist attacks in J&K since 2019. It began its attacks at Upper Dhangri village in Rajouri, and has since spread violence across Poonch, Reasi, Doda, and Kishtwar in Jammu region.
The attack comes amid rising tensions along the forward areas, with Pakistani soldiers resorting to cross-border firing in Poonch district Wednesday. Security forces have placed the border under high alert and intensified searches.
