However, an unexpected off-field moment has stolen the spotlight. After the victory celebrations, Rohit Sharma collected the trophy from ICC Chairman Jay Shah, and the team posed with the ‘Winners’ placard. But in a hilarious mix-up, the players walked away, unintentionally leaving the trophy behind.
A now-viral video captures Rohit, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul slowly walking off after the photo session before Rohit suddenly realised the blunder. He and Rahul quickly returned to retrieve the trophy. Social media was flooded with reactions, with fans joking, “Trophy hi bhool gaye [they forgot the trophy]!”

Reflecting on the win, Rohit said, “I don’t see anything wrong we did this series. Obviously, there are certain things we are looking at to improve.”
Gill finished as the series’ top scorer with 259 runs, including a century and two fifties, solidifying his position as India’s in-form batter.
