During a session at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy disclosed that US President Donald Trump shared his personal contact number in their recent phone call.
According to AFP, Zelenskyy confirmed the exchange saying, “Yes, he gave me his telephone number,” and added that Trump had extended an open invitation, saying: “You can call anytime.”
Further talking about the negotiations on war with Ukraine with US involvement, Zelenskyy said, “I will meet with Russians — with only one Russian guy, with Putin — only after we will have common plan with Trump, Europe.”
In his address, the Ukraine President also alleged that the United States, including the Biden administration, never truly viewed Ukraine as a Nato member.
Meanwhile, Andriy Yermak, the Ukrainian presidency’s chief of staff, confirmed his meeting with Keith Kellogg, the US President Donald Trump’s special representative. Yermak shared on social media that the discussions centred on “The main topic of conversation was the coordination of joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace” in Ukraine.
The security conference also facilitated discussions between Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskyy and US Vice President JD Vance, with the latter advocating for a swift resolution to the conflict.
Significant apprehension has emerged regarding potential negotiations between Washington and Moscow, with fears that Ukraine might be compelled to surrender territory to Russia and forfeit its Nato membership prospects.
