Barron Trump’s presence at New York University (NYU) has sparked curiosity among students, with some describing him as “sort of an oddity on campus,” as per reports by Vanity Fair. Despite being the son of President Donald Trump and standing at 6’7”, Barron has maintained a low profile since starting at NYU’s Stern School of Business last autumn.
Kaya Walker, president of NYU College Republicans, summing up Barron’s campus routine told Vanity Fair: “He goes to class, he goes home.” Other students echoed this sentiment, noting that Barron appears to keep to himself, likely due to the presence of plainclothes Secret Service officers who accompany him at all times. One student recalled asking him to play basketball, saying Barron seemed interested but suggested he “wasn’t really allowed to do stuff.”
His daily commute from Trump Tower to campus in a motorcade of black SUVs has further heightened his mystique. While other celebrity students at NYU—such as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen or Dylan Sprouse—had more visible social lives, Barron’s presence remains largely elusive. His movements were initially tracked on social media, with students sharing off-guard photos of him in lecture halls. One finance major posted a picture of Barron in class, writing, “Today was wild.” Conservative commentator Benny Johnson later described the online attention as a study in “what real rizz is.”
Despite his reserved presence, Barron has been the subject of intense speculation. While some reports have portrayed him as a “ladies’ man,” others suggest he is more of a low-key video game enthusiast. Eric Trump has called him “the most eligible bachelor in the world,” while some conservative influencers have speculated about potential future partners for him. NYU student Maria Arana, who was mentioned in such speculation, found the idea amusing but “very random.”
Walker, the NYU College Republicans president, acknowledged that Barron’s presence has led to mixed reactions on campus. She recalled a professor jokingly remarking that “he doesn’t really belong here.” However, Walker also expressed some concern for Barron’s ability to experience a normal college life, given the constant attention surrounding him.
While Barron has yet to make any public statements or create a social media presence, his perceived role in conservative circles continues to grow. Elon Musk once recounted discussing “consciousness and video games” with him, and his father, Donald Trump, has frequently referenced Barron’s interest in TikTok and podcast culture.
