NEW DELHI: New Delhi and several parts of northern India were shaken by strong earthquake tremors early Monday morning. The sudden jolts prompted residents to rush out of their homes in panic.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter Scale, struck at 05:36:55 IST, startling people out of their sleep.
The earthquake was felt across the capital region and neighbouring states, although no immediate reports of damage or casualties have emerged.
At New Delhi railway station, a vendor Anish said, “Everything was shaking…customers started screaming…”
