Delhi shaken and stirred: Earthquake reactions flood X with scary footage & memes | Delhi News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: A 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Delhi-NCR early Monday morning, sending tremors across the region and sparking a flurry of reactions, CCTV footage and personal accounts on social media. A user described the tremors as feeling like a wave in the ocean, adding to the panic and confusion.
According to National Center for Seismology, the quake, centered in New Delhi near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan, struck at a depth of five kilometers at 5.36 am, an official told PTI.

Residents of high-rises in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad rushed out of their buildings as the tremors hit. A woman in her 50s, out for a morning walk in Noida’s Sector 20, said she didn’t feel the quake in the park but noted that it was strong enough to bring people outside.
Delhi Police reassured citizens via X, urging them to call emergency helpline 112 if needed.

The region, which has seen low-magnitude quakes every two to three years, last recorded a 3.3 magnitude tremor in 2015, the official added.
