Flying Beast Gaurav Taneja on ‘ India’s Got Latent’ controversy: ‘…Bhai Main To Kehta Hu Sundar Pichai Ko…’ – The Times of India

YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, popularly known as Flying Beast, has expressed concern over the escalating controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s recent joke on Samay Raina’s show, “India’s Got Latent.” Taneja, who criticised Allahbadia’s joke, believes the situation has spiraled out of control and has sarcastically asked the authorities to arrest Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, the company which owns YouTube.
In an Instagram video, Taneja stated that he is pleased to see young people standing up for their traditions and culture. He reiterated his view that Allahbadia’s comments were inappropriate. However, he questioned the subsequent actions taken against Allahbadia and others involved with the show.

Taneja surprised on detention of show’s video editor

Taneja pointed out that there have been so many FIRs against Allahbadia that he had to move the Supreme Court to club all FIRs.
He specifically pointed out the summoning of the show’s video editor and proceeded to ask why all the past panelists, and everyone involved in the show, was being summoned.
“Itne saare states ki police involve ho gayi hai. Maine abhi abhi dekha editor ko pakad k le gye hai. Jo show main tha usko summon kr diya,” he can be heard saying in the video.
“Police from so many states have gotten involved now. I just saw that the editor of the show has been taken in. They have summoned guests on the show.”
He sarcastically questioned why similar action wasn’t being taken against Sundar Pichai, the CEO of YouTube’s parent company, Google, for hosting content with “filthy language.”
“Main to keh rha hu Sundar Pichai ko pakad ke laao.. YouTube pe jab pdti hain galiya to YouTube ka algorithm catch nhi kr pata kya [ki] galiyan pd rhi hain. Sundar Pichai ko kyu pakad ke nahi la rhe aap.”
“I’m saying [if this is the case], arrest Sundar Pichai. Why are you not arresting him?”
“They can only get the guy who is weak,” Taneja asserted, suggesting Allahbadia is being unfairly targeted.
Taneja argued that the punishment should fit the crime and that the current situation is not the democracy he envisioned. He expressed that he believes that the legal system is being used to harass Allahbadia rather than to deliver justice.
