Across these six games, he’s averaged 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting 46.7% from the field. Remarkably, he’s been able to put up these numbers despite struggling from beyond the arc, shooting only 10% from three. His efficiency at the free-throw line— where he’s hitting 89.1% on 9.2 attempts per game— has been a major factor in his success.
Head coach Steve Kerr praised Butler’s growing impact on the team, “The game feels easier right now for us. Every play is not as crucial when there’s a consistency in the game. You can make a mistake and keep playing and not feel like, ‘Oh, my god, we’ve got to flip things right now.’ I just think the consistency of what we’re seeing defensively is setting the tone.”
