NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha member Mahua Maji was injured when her car collided with a parked truck on NH-75 near Hotwag village in Jharkhand’s Latehar district around 2.30am on Wednesday while returning from Maha Kumbh.
Maji suffered a fracture in her left wrist and was admitted to a private hospital in Ranchi. Her family members in the car sustained minor injuries.
The MP was initially taken to Sadar Hospital for first-aid treatment.
“She was given first-aid and then referred to RIMS-Ranchi for better treatment,” said Sadar police station in-charge Dular Chowde.
Maji was traveling back to Ranchi from Prayagraj with her son and daughter-in-law when the accident occurred.
