57 labourers trapped in avalanche near Uttarakhand’s Badrinath | Dehradun News – The Times of India


DEHRADUN: An avalanche struck Uttarakhand‘s Chamoli district, reportedly trapping 57 workers in Mana village.
According to the BRO, all 57 workers were engaged in work when the avalanche occurred. While 10 have been safely rescued, efforts are underway to rescue the remaining workers, led by the Garhwal 9th Brigade and BRO.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), district administration, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) deployed at the site.
The 9th Brigade of the Garhwal Army and BRO are spearheading the rescue efforts.
An SDRF team has also been dispatched from Joshimath, while another remains on standby in Dehradun, ready for airlift if required.
