Light snow, rain likely in Himachal Pradesh today; 480 roads still blocked | Chandigarh News – The Times of India


Shimla: The meteorology department has predicted light snowfall and rain at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.
On Saturday evening, a total of 480 roads, including four national highways, were still blocked, and 434 water supply schemes were disrupted across the state due to snowfall and landslides caused by continuous rains. The highest number of 66 roads were blocked in Chamba district. Respective district administrations were in the process of restoring roads, electricity, and power at the time of filing the report.
Thunderstorms with lightning, light snow, and rain are likely at isolated places on March 3 and 4 in the hill state. After continuous rainfall and light snowfall at higher reaches for two days, Shimla district witnessed a cloudy Saturday and drizzling. Bhuntar had received the highest 112mm rainfall by Saturday evening. Keylong recorded the lowest temperature of -6.9°C, and Una recorded a maximum temperature of 26°C.
The highway in Raison of Kullu district was opened on Saturday evening.
