When Kash Patel wrote his first children’s book, The Plot Against the King, in 2022, he could not have known that he would one day lead the FBI. He drew inspiration for the story from his 2018 investigation into Russian involvement in Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. The book states it is intended for children over the age of three, but critics argue it was not meant for children or their parents – but only for King Donald, the second main character of the story, the first being Kash himself, Kash the Wizard. Patel followed this book with two sequels – The Plot Against the King: 2,000 Mules (2022) and The Plot Against the King 3: The Return of the King (2024).
Patel has also written books for adults, but his first MAGA-themed children’s books garnered the most attention, as he did not attempt to subtly push his agenda, making it clear for young readers. In fact, the FBI director dropped many hints about himself – and how he operates.
What is The Plot Against the King?
With no element of surprise, the story revolves around King Donald and Hillary Queenton and the Choosing Day, when the people select their new ruler. After heralds (mainstream media) accuse Donald of befriending the ‘Russionians’, who allegedly helped him cheat, Kash is called upon to resolve the crisis. The story concludes with Kash uncovering that King Donald was innocent and that the Russian influence theory was merely a conspiracy orchestrated by a “shifty knight” (Adam Schiff), “Keeper Komey” (former FBI director James Comey), and Hillary Queenton (Hillary Clinton).
However, the simplistic and uninspired story revealed a great deal about Kash.

Kash is a wizard
Patel presents himself as a wizard in the story. His rise in Republican circles has been nothing short of magical. A MAGA loyalist, he impressed Donald Trump as the author of the secret ‘Nunes memo’, which undermined the Justice Department’s investigation into Russian influence in the 2016 election.
Patel has also made money as if by magic. In a recent controversy, it was reported that Patel earned at least $2.6 million through consulting, media appearances, speaking fees, and book deals via his firm, Trishul LLC.
Kash can discover anything about anything
The FBI is currently under fire for failing to release Epstein’s files in their entirety, while Patel previously stated that he would publish the full list on his first day as FBI director. Attorney General Pam Bondi generated significant hype over the list, but it ultimately proved to be a damp squib, as the FBI field office in New York is allegedly withholding thousands of Epstein-related documents. Bondi has now approached Patel to investigate and release the remaining documents. Patel has assured that, under his leadership, there will be no cover-ups and no missing files, ushering in a new era for the bureau.
This trait was already evident in The Plot Against the King, where Patel called himself the ‘Distinguished Discoverer’. “Kash was known far and wide as the one person who could discover anything about anything. He found the Holy Grape, deep in the Enchanted Forest, and discovered who had stolen the sleeping princess.”
Kash the Wizard also set one condition for supporting King Donald: “I must share the truth with everyone, no matter what I find.” This suggests Patel is unlikely to cover up wrongdoing by prominent Republican figures.
Kash’s greatest danger is…
Solving mysteries is a simple task for Kash the Wizard, and it will be for the FBI director as well. He will seek out new challenges, as the only thing that scares both versions of Kash is boredom. “…as the sun rose and set over the Land of the Free, Kash found himself in grave danger, not of trolls or ogres, but of getting bored.”
Kash Patel and James Comey
It is no surprise that the FBI has launched an investigation into former director James Comey, as he was long identified as Kash Patel’s target in the 2022 book. Presented as Keeper Komey, the keeper of the slugs, Comey was depicted as a conspirator against King Donald.
However, Comey now faces an entirely different case. He is allegedly accused of employing female “honeypot” agents to infiltrate Trump’s 2015 campaign.
Kash Patel and Adam Schiff
Adam Schiff is portrayed as the “Shifty Knight” in The Plot Against the King. In the book’s epilogue, where fiction meets reality, Kash Patel wrote that Schiff was the mastermind behind the false narrative of Russiagate. Schiff had promised the media that he had evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia but claimed he could not disclose it because it was classified.
Democratic Senator Adam Schiff is squarely in Kash Patel’s crosshairs, and he’s not pulling any punches. A relentless critic, Schiff has dismissed Patel as a sycophant and a political hack, making it clear he won’t support his confirmation. “The only qualification Kash Patel has to be FBI director is that when everyone else in the first Trump administration said, ‘No, I won’t do that, that crosses moral, ethical, legal lines,’ Kash Patel said, ‘Sign me up,’” Schiff declared.
But in Washington, vendettas rarely fade—they fester. And with Patel at the helm of the FBI, Schiff may soon find that in this game of political chess, the next move isn’t his to make.
