Luis Pena, the former UFC fighter, has been one of the most controversial names in the history of UFC. The 31 year old had to be released by UFC after he was arrested twice due to domestic violence in 2021. This incident had shocked his fans and caused a huge uproar in 2021 when UFC officially released him. Later, he signed with ACA.

Back in 2021, Luis Pena had allegedly struck and bit his girlfriend. This had led to him getting arrested for domestic battery by the authorities in Florida. But it was not jst his girlfriend that he had physically assaulted. There was another woman who tried to stop Luis Pena from attacking his girlfriend, but she was beaten up too.
Luis Pena pleaded not guilty to the charges levied against him and in 2023, the former UFC fighter announced on social media that all the charges against him in this particular case were dismissed by the court.
A few weeks later, the former UFC fighter, Luis Pena, was arrested for the second time in Boward County, Florida for battery, criminal mischief, battery causing bodily harm, and domestic battery.
But again, in 2022, this case against Luis Pena was also dismissed. With the consequent arrests of Luis Pena, UFC decided to release him.

As per ESPN, in an official statement released by UFC, it said, “UFC is aware of the disturbing allegations conce”rning the recent arrest of Luis Pena. Mr. Pena has been open about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse issues and the organization has on multiple prior occasions attempted to help him get professional treatment. At this time, UFC believes Mr. Pena needs to deal with the health and legal issues in front of him, and consequently has informed Mr. Pena’s management that his promotional agreement has been terminated.”
CEO Dana White also spoke about the decision a few days later and said, “We knew that he had problems before that we were trying to help him with…”
Luis Pena then later signed with ACA and took up boxing. He is still active in his career.
