Brutal Murder in Punjab: Girl Killed After Refusing Sex, Body Discovered Near Railway Tracks | Ludhiana News – The Times of India


LUDHIANA: A naked dead body of a girl was found in a field near the railway line in Alour village of Khanna, after which police arrested the accused on Friday.
Police suggested that the accused killed the girl as she refused to have sex with him. The accused was identified as 26-year-old Sanjeet Kumar of Mandi Gobindgarh, who worked as a mason and originally belonged to Bihar.
On 13 March, the naked dead body of the minor girl was found in the field near the railway line in Alour village, after which Sadar Khanna police booked an unidentified accused for murder.
SHO Sadar Khanna police station, sub inspector Sukhwinderpal Singh, said that the accused was arrested from Bhadla Chowk in Khanna. He added that the accused, who was working in the neighbourhood of the deceased for ten days, brought her home on March 11 at around 7.30 pm.
A police officer said that after having snacks (samosas), he asked her for sex, but she didn’t agree to it. He added that the accused then allegedly murdered her. When asked whether the girl was sexually assaulted, the SHO suggested that the post-mortem report and viscera report would shed light on whether she was sexually assaulted or not.
Addressing mediapersons at Khanna on Friday, DSP Khanna Amritpal Singh Bhatti said that police came to know about the matter on Thursday after a villager, Dalvir Singh, and the Sarpanch of Alaud village, Gurmail Singh, informed the police about a naked body in the fields.
Cops said that after the police reached the spot, the mouth of the victim was tied with cloth, and there was an injury mark on her head. They added that the clothes and slippers of the deceased were found on the other side of the railway lines.
Police officials said that the police lodged a murder case against unidentified accused at Sadar Khanna police station, after which a probe was started to identify the girl and the person who killed her.
They added that later the girl was identified on Thursday, and her parents told police that their daughter was missing since the evening of March 11.
Cops said that the sister of the deceased later told police that she was having a relationship with the accused and he gifted her a mobile phone as well. They added that the family suspected that the accused took away their daughter on the pretext of marriage and killed her. Meanwhile, as per reports, the accused is married and has two children.
