NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav‘s son Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated Holi with party workers at his official residence in Patna on Saturday.
After celebrating the festival at his house, Yadav rode a scooter near the chief minister’s residence, shouting “Happy Holi Paltu Chacha,” a remark aimed at Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. Kumar has aligned with and parted ways with the RJD twice in the past.
A video circulating on social media shows Yadav and another man, both covered in colours, riding a scooter without helmets toward the CM’s residence. As they reached the gate of CM’s residence, Yadav repeatedly asked, “Paltu chacha kahan hain? Paltu chacha…” (Where is flip-flop uncle?).
Another video from the celebration shows Yadav sitting on a sofa on a temporary stage, holding a microphone. In the video, he addresses a police officer named Deepak, saying, “Ae sipahi, ae Deepak, abhi ek gana bajaenge jis par tumko thumka lagana padega. Nahin lagaoge to tumko suspend kar denge. Bura na maano Holi hai.” (Hey policeman Deepak, we are going to play a song on which you shall perform a pelvic thrust. If you do not, you will be suspended. Don’t mind, it’s Holi).
In a celebration similar to the ‘kapda faad Holi’ events once organized by his father, Yadav also ripped the clothes of supporters who came to greet him.
