BENGALURU: Three labourers from Bihar were killed and another was injured in a brawl late Saturday among a group of tipsy workers partying at a construction site on Bengaluru’s outskirts.
The fight started after one of the deceased allegedly made inappropriate comments about one of the two attackers’ sisters during the get-together. The injured worker has been detained along with another man who was reportedly present at the site. A hunt is on for the attackers, police said.
Deceased were Ansu, 20, Radhe Shyam, 20, and Deepu, 18, all from Gopalganj in Bihar. Suspects Sonu and Sudheer are also from Gopalganj. Citing preliminary investigations, police said Ansu had been in touch with Sonu’s sister over the phone for past few months.
Saturday, Sonu invited Ansu and others to their building in Sarjapur. Once there, someone in the group raised the topic, leading Ansu to dial her back home and, once the call ended, allegedly speak offensively about her. This led to an altercation that soon snowballed into a free-for-all. Sonu and Sudheer attacked Ansu with a wooden log and iron rod. Shyam and Deepu intervened but Sonu and Sudheer attacked and killed them too, police said. A murder case was filed.
