Not just CEO Elon Musk, Tesla’s top management too seems quite upset with all the protests and vandalism against the company and its vehicles. This includes Tesla Autopilot AI engineer Dhaval Shroff. Amongst one of the earliest engineers in the Tesla Full Self Driving team, Dhaval Shroff slammed former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz who made fun of Tesla’s falling stock on stage. For those unaware, Tim Walz was Democratic candidate for VP’s post and lost in the 2024 elections.
What Tim Waltz said on Tesla stock
During a Tuesday night speech in Wisconsin, Walz said that he frequently checks how Tesla stock is doing to “give me a little boost during the day.” “$225 and dropping,” exclaimed Walz, referring to Tesla’s closing share price on March 18, a more than 50% decline from its December peak. Walz also suggested owners of Tesla vehicles should remove the Tesla logo from their cars.
Tim Waltz shared the same speech on Twitter. “If you need a little boost during the day, check out Tesla stock,” he wrote. Quoting the same, Dhaval Shroff wrote on Twitter: “It’s obvious that this guy hasn’t been in a Tesla ever. And I’m not sure if a lot of his supporters (the people who vandalise them) have either. I saw this lawyer who was suing Tesla once show up in his own Tesla to sue. I’m pretty sure there are Tesla short sellers who also happily use theirs. The hypocrisy here is also insane. Once you’ve used one, there is no other car that even comes close enough to compete.”
Replying to Dhaval Shroff, Elon Musk shared emoji that meant he is in complete agreement. Dhaval, who did his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics and Communications from the University of Mumbai said to be working closely with Elon Musk.
Elon Musk’s JD Vance reply to Tim Waltz
Incidentally, Musk too had replied earlier to Tim Waltz’s comments. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tesla CEO hit back with a jab referencing Vice President JD Vance, the Republican who won over Tim Walz. “Sometimes when I need a little boost, I look at the @JDVance portrait in the @WhiteHouse and thank the Lord,” Elon Musk wrote.
