Sunrisers Hyderabad certainly have a reason to celebrate their beginning to the IPL season but well begun is only half job done, as they say. Their impressive 44-run victory over Rajasthan Royals, after scoring 286, sent a clear warning to their opponents today (March 27), Lucknow Super Giants, about the power packed in the host team.
The last season’s runners-up made an early statement by scoring the league’s second-highest total.

As they prepare for today’s match, it’s unlikely that SRH will alter their aggressive strategy, raising the possibility of them becoming the first team to reach 300 runs in an IPL innings.
In the first five matches, 119 sixes were hit, with 30 coming from the SRH-RR clash. The Sunrisers will be excited to face the LSG attack, which is missing key bowlers Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Akash Deep due to injuries.
Avesh has received clearance to return, but it will be interesting to see how he performs in his first match since January. He’ll be up against SRH’s formidable top order, including Ishan Kishan, Travis Head, and Abhishek Sharma, all of whom are in excellent form.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, returning from injury, showed no signs of trouble with his quickfire 30 off 15 balls, and with Heinrich Klaasen waiting in the wings, LSG’s bowling lineup faces a considerable challenge.
In Visakhapatnam, Shardul Thakur bowled only two overs and was inexplicably left out during the death overs. Meanwhile, spinners Manimaran Siddharth and Digvesh Rathi outperformed veteran Ravi Bishnoi as Ashutosh Sharma led Delhi Capitals to victory.
Pitch report for SRH vs LSG
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has been a batting haven over the past two years with runs being scored by the heaps. Expect much of the same tonight as SRH put their stellar batting lineup up against LSG’s average bowling lineup.
