ChatGPT maker OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, has taken a unique approach to share a personal moment. Altman, who became a father recently, took to the social media platform X (earlier Twitter) to share a Ghibli-style AI artwork featuring his son. It also marks the first time he’s offered such an intimate glimpse into his family life. The photo emerges amid the latest Ghibli trend that swept social media following ChatGPT’s launch of its new image generation tool. Numerous users have embraced the trend, transforming their photos into images inspired by Studio Ghibli’s distinctive Japanese animation style.
However, this is not the first time Altman shared a picture of his son on social media. In February, he shared another photo with his son when he announced the birth of his first child. The older photo only showed the kid grabbing one of Altman’s fingers with his tiny hand.
Sam Altman says the Ghibli trend is ‘melting’ OpenAI’s GPUs
Recently, Altman shared another recent post on X where he said that the latest Ghibli trend is ‘melting’ OpenAI’s GPUs. In the post, he wrote: “It’s super fun seeing people love images in ChatGPT. But our GPUs are melting. We are going to temporarily introduce some rate limits while we work on making it more efficient. Hopefully won’t be long!”
Soon after this, Altman also asked ChatGPT users to reduce the generation of Ghibli-style photos. He noted that the overwhelming response to the Chibli trend is affecting OpenAI’s employees.
Altman wrote: “Can y’all please chill on generating images. This is insane. Our team needs sleep.”
Replying to a comment on this post, he added: “We just haven’t been able to catch up since launch. So people are still working to keep the service up. Biblical demand, I have never seen anything like it.”
