Mirzapur Season 3 bonus episode: Divyenndu aka Munna Bhaiya makes a jaw-dropping comeback; leaves fans wanting more – Times of India

In a thrilling twist for fans of the acclaimed series ‘Mirzapur’, the makers have dropped a surprise bonus episode for its highly successful third season. The unexpected treat brings back one of the most beloved and controversial characters of the show, Munna Tripathi, portrayed by the talented Divyenndu.
The third season, which had already garnered significant attention and cemented the show’s place as one of the most-watched series, ended on a shocking cliffhanger. However, the bonus episode is set to provide viewers with an electrifying addition, especially for those who have been missing Munna’s iconic presence.
Munna Tripathi’s character, known for his volatile and intense persona, was notably absent in the latest season, sparking a wave of discontent among the show’s dedicated fanbase. Social media buzzed with demands for his return, reflecting the deep connection audiences had formed with the character.
The teaser for the bonus episode has already created a stir. In it, Divyenndu, in his trademark Munna Bhaiyya style, addresses his fans with a mix of humor and nostalgia. He remarks, “Hum kya gaye pura bawaal mach gaya, suna hain hamare loyal fans bahut miss kiye humko. Sach kahen, miss toh hum bhi bahut kie aap log ko. Humare liye loyalty ki value sabse badhkar aur apki es loyalty ke lie royalty toh banti hai. Season 3 mein kuch cheeze miss kiye aap, woh hum khoj ke leke aaye, just for you Munna Tripathi ke saujanyay se. (When I left, it caused quite a stir. I’ve heard that our loyal fans missed me a lot. To be honest, I missed you all just as much. For me, loyalty is the most valuable thing, and for your loyalty, you deserve royalty. There were some things you missed in Season 3, and I’ve brought them back just for you, courtesy of Munna Tripathi.)” This dialogue not only reaffirms the character’s significance but also teases fans with the promise of something special in the upcoming content.

Interestingly, earlier this year, Divyenndu announced that he would not be a part of ‘Mirzapur Season 3, much to the disappointment of fans. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, he revealed the reasons behind his decision, citing the intense and dark nature of his character. “I shall declare, I am not a part of Mirzapur Season 3. When I was in character, it was affecting my personality a lot. We shouldn’t over-romanticise going too deep into a character, because it is not easy. At times, it used to get really dark for me. I felt suffocated. It’s so tricky that you don’t even realise that you are in that zone. It’s only when you come out of it do you realise how dark it was,” Divyenndu shared, highlighting the psychological toll that such roles can take on an actor.
Despite his earlier statements, the return of Munna Bhaiyya in this bonus episode is a testament to the character’s enduring popularity and the show’s ability to keep its audience engaged with unexpected twists. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer, ‘Mirzapur Season 3’ continues to feature a stellar cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, and more. The crime thriller has solidified its place in Indian streaming content, offering a gripping narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
