‘Not everyone’s hands can fit …’ Yogi Adityanath slams oppn’s remarks on ‘bulldozer action’ | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday slammed the opposition and reaffirmed his stance on taking “bulldozer action” against the properties of accused individuals.
Speaking at an event while distributing job appointment letters, Yogi praised the efforts of the state’s law enforcement agencies in delivering swift justice and emphasized that making such decisions requires both capability and commitment.
In response to criticism from the opposition, Yogi said, ” If there would be no peace and harmony in Uttar Pradesh, why would anyone want to invest? Today, they (opposition) are trying to mislead the people of the state once again.”

“Bulldozer pe har ek vyakti ke haath nahi fit ho sakte (Not everyone’s hands can fit on a bulldozer). It needs heart and brain both. One who has the capability and dedication like a bulldozer can only operate it. Those who bow down before the rioters will anyway lose steam in front of the bulldozer,” he added.
Yogi’s statement comes after recent comments by opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, who welcomed the Supreme Court‘s strong stance against the use of bulldozers for delivering justice.
Rahul Gandhi, in a post on X, commended the Supreme Court for exposing the “BJP’s anti-constitutional face, which has crushed humanity and justice under the bulldozer.”
Akhilesh Yadav also expressed his gratitude for the top court’s ruling, stating that using bulldozers was unconstitutional and that he had been raising this issue for a long time.
The Supreme Court recently heard several petitions challenging the use of bulldozers and demolition actions taken by authorities against the homes of individuals accused of crimes. During the proceedings, the bench, comprising Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan, stated that it aimed to resolve the issue on a “pan-India basis,” clarifying that it was not attempting to protect any illegal structure/extension from action by the authorities.
