Haryana assembly election: BJP releases first list of 67 candidates, CM Nayab Singh Saini to contest from Ladwa | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released the first list of 67 candidates for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections.
According to the list, CM Nayab Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa, Gian Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt, Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Sunita Duggal from Ratia, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur and Tejpal Tanwar from Sohna.

Haryana is set to hold its assembly elections in a single phase on October 5, 2024, and the result will be announced on October 8, 2024.The deadline for filing nominations is September 12, followed by scrutiny on September 13.
Candidates have until September 16 to withdraw their nominations. The current term of the Haryana Assembly ends on November 3, 2024. The major political parties in the fray include the BJP, Congress, AAP, the JJP-ASP alliance, and the BSP-INLD alliance.
In the last elections in 2019, BJP won 40 seats in Haryana Assembly polls, Congress logged victory on 31 seats, while JJP got 10 seats. BJP formed a coalition government with the JJP but earlier this year, they broke the alliance. Notably, for the first time in Haryana’s Assembly elections, senior citizens over 85 and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) with a 40% benchmark disability can vote from home.
Earlier in the day, the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), BJP’s ex-ally and Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) released a list of 19 candidates.
