Apple’s Pro models to be cheaper by by Rs 15,000 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The new iPhone is here, and it’s cheaper this time when it comes to higher-end Pro models, which will be manufactured in India for the first time. Coming to non-Pro devices, the entry-level iPhone 16 will cost you Rs 80,000, while the ‘Plus’ version will come for Rs 90,000.
The Pro versions are priced lower by Rs 15,000 this time as the model starts getting made in India. Also, with the Budget cutting the customs duty on smartphones by 5%, imported models have also become cheaper.

The base version of the iPhone 16 Pro will cost Rs 1.2 lakh, while the flagship ProMax will come for Rs 1.45 lakh. However, prices are still higher than what a buyer will pay in the US – an entry Pro model will cost Rs 84,000 in America and a ProMax will come for Rs 1 lakh.
But industry officials say this is because devices come bundled with a mobile operator connection in the US. Also, the taxes on device import are much lower in the US (the same is the case in other places such as Dubai). Bookings of models will begin from Sept 13, while phones will be available from Sept 20.
With new models coming in, Apple has also cut prices of non-Pro iPhone15 models by Rs 10,000. However, while their prices are at par with iPhone16 with higher storage, they lack the advanced features such as superior processing, enhanced camera functions and Apple intelligence AI.
Industry watchers said India is a market that prefers to initially buy the previous-gen models more after price cuts.
