Apple iPhone 16 goes on pre-orders starting September 13 and on sale starting September 20. And like every year, just hours after the launch of iPhone 16 series, Apple announced price cuts for some of its previous-generation models. These include iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Apple announced a Rs 10,000 price cut for all these iPhone models.
Apple has stopped selling the Pro models of iPhone 15 — iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max — on its official store. The same will continue to be available at third-party resellers as well as Apple-authorised stores.
There are reports that customers of Phone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus can get a refund from Apple? Is this true, Yes or may be. But only partly. As per Apple’s ‘Price Protection Policy’, the refund option is available to only select customers — only those who have purchased these iPhone models within 14 days of Apple announcing an official price cut for them. These buyers can check for refunds at official Apple Stores or call on 000800 040 1966. They will need the original receipt of the same.
What Apple’s ‘price protection’ policy says
Here’s what ‘Price Protection’ policy on Apple India’s page says: “Should Apple reduce its price on any Apple-branded product within 14 calendar days from the date you receive your product, feel free to visit an Apple Retail Store or contact the Apple Contact Center on 000800 040 1966 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within 14 calendar days of the price change. Please note that this excludes limited-time price reductions, such as those that occur during special sales events.”
“Price protection is only available for up to 10 units of a particular product. Additionally, we may require that you have the product with you or otherwise have proof of possession when requesting price protection.”
