The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 begins with a fresh batch of contestants. After introducing them, Amitabh Bachchan starts with the first round of Fastest Fingers First. He then invites Kirti to the hotseat. The contestant belongs to Sukrit, Uttar Pradesh. Kirti is accompanied by her parents and mother-in-law. While sharing her story she revealed that it was her father’s dream to come to KBC which she has fulfilled.
She shared, “I am working in a bank, sir. I have a young child. I am here because of my father. He has been trying to participate since the 2000s. We used to sit for hours in front of the phone expecting the call. In those times, our bill was Rs 3000. Back then my father used to barely earn 10-12,000 rupees and the bill came this huge. Dadaji had scolded us so much.”
She further spoke about her father’s illness, “my father has liver psoriasis, there were such encounters that we faced that he would forget us, forget how to write. But one thing he never forgot was KBC. Once, he forgot us but he could answer all the questions on KBC. That is when I decided that I would make him meet you one day and will sit on this hotseat for him.”
Amitabh Bachchan lauded Kirti’s father and began the game. While a mathematical question, Big B praises her skills, Kirti says ‘I would barely pass, didn’t even score 40.’ Big B reveals his score, ‘Mere 42 aaye the.’ Kirti easily completes the first padav without using the lifelines. She even answers Super Sawaal correctly and activates Dugnastra.
While having a conversation, Kirti reveals she isn’t fond of jewellery and asks whether Big B gifts wife Jaya jewellery. Amitabh Bachchan shares, “You’ve asked me quite a personal question but yes, I do gift her. Hope anyone from Income Tax isn’t watching this.”

Further Kirti talks about her inter-caste love marriage. And how she had to convince her parents of it. Amitabh Bachchan then shares, “I find it little awkward to call it inter-caste. My father was from UP and my mom was from a Sikh family. I believe that I am half-sardar. He didn’t keep his surname, and used his pen name as his surname. So this has been for years, my masis who comes from Punjab. When I was born, they asked my name, ‘Kinna sona putar hai, ki naam rakhiya. Haaye sadda Amitabh Singh.’ They never leave it.”
