Canada row won’t hit masoor stock: Officials | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Amid the diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, which has been a main source for import of masoor, government sources said on Thursday that they don’t see any issue arising regarding availability of the lentil.
“We have stock of more than 8 lakh tonne of the lentil. Prices of the lentil are currently stable. We don’t see any problem.The lentil is also being sold at a subsidised rate under the Bharat brand. We will continue selling the lentil in the retail market,” a senior govt official said. The average price of masoor has been Rs 90/kg for the past few months.
