Seat sharing finalised for MVA but who is CM face? What Congress’ Nana Patole said | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on Thursday said that the seat sharing agreement between the Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) had been finalised but the chief ministerial face would only be decided after the government comes to power in Maharashtra. The three MVA allies — Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) — would be contesting 85 seats each.
When asked if he would be the CM face, Patole said, “First of all, our responsibility is to bring our government to power. Then our high command will make a decision. We want to protect Maharashtra.”

On seat sharing, Patole said that the formal announcement would be made by Thursday evening or Friday morning.
Shiv Sena (UBT) has announced its initial list of 65 candidates for the upcoming elections, featuring Aaditya Thackeray and Sunil Raut. Aaditya Thackeray is set to contest from the Worli assembly constituency.
The nomination process for the 288 assembly seats is currently underway, with polling scheduled for November 20 and results to be announced on November 23.
In the previous 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the dominant party with 105 seats, followed by Shiv Sena with 56 seats and Congress securing 44 seats.
